Ahmed Amir Khalil, Ph.D. Senior Structural Consultant; ASI Training Manager
Summary. Dr. Khalil is a Senior Structural Consultant and Training Manager for Applied Science International, LLC since 2005. He is an expert of nonlinear dynamic analysis of structures. During this time, he has managed several engineering projects and facilitated multiple presentations and training sessions on topics such as progressive collapse and Extreme Loading for Structures Software in the USA, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Dr. Khalil has acted as a professor, instructor, and curriculum coordinator for several Structural Engineering Courses at Cairo University, United Arab Emirates University, and McMaster University. Vulnerability Assessments. Dr. Khalil has acted as the structural consultant for several ASI vulnerability assessment projects in the USA, KSA, and Australia. In this capacity he coordinated the efforts of all team members performing different types of analyses, communication with the client and was responsible for writing the final reports summarizing all the results and the main findings. Demolition Analysis. Dr. Khalil has acted as the project manager for several ASI vulnerability assessment projects in the USA, KSA, and Australia. In this capacity he coordinated the efforts of all team members performing different types of analyses, communication with the client and was responsible for writing the final reports summarizing all the results and the main findings. Engineering Training. Dr. Khalil has facilitated several training courses in the areas of progressive collapse analysis and extreme loading of structures as well as use of several finite element and applied element software packages. These included one week long courses, one day sessions as well as multiple online sessions with engineers from many parts of the world. His roles in these sessions involved planning, coordinating, preparing training materials, as well as facilitating the presentations. Teaching. Since obtaining his doctorate, Dr. Khalil has served as visiting Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the UAEU, Assistant Professor in the Department of Structural Engineering at Cairo University, and Instructor in the Faculty of Engineering at McMaster University, Canada. |
